On June 6, 2025, Israeli military forces recovered the bodies of two hostages in southern Gaza. The hostages, identified as Gadi Haggai and Judi Weinstein Haggai, were taken during the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023. The bodies were found in the Khan Younis area of Gaza. Both individuals were Israeli-Americans, with Judi Weinstein Haggai also holding Canadian citizenship. They were residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz, which was targeted during the 2023 attack.
